It's happened with me few times. My whole day Rides has gone due to sound attached with gopro and also many issues with gopro as hanging, stall and battery issue

How's the battery life?

I've had an XT250 for 7 years, and for my height -- 5'6" -- the bike fits me perfectly. I sat on the Honda CRF300L at a dealership the other day bc I was thinking of getting a 2nd bike and the 300L is a great-looking dual sport with a 6th gear, but on level ground I have to shift my body and the bike to the left in order to get my left foot on the ground -- and that just barely. I can't flat foot this bike with both feet when I come to a stop. I have complete confidence taking the XT offroad and going up hills. I'd be very hesitant to go offroad with the Honda. I have no doubt I'd be dropping it a lot. It's something to consider when choosing between the XT and the 300L if you are under 6 foot in height.

XT250 excellent bike -- light, nimble, tough, low maintenance, reliable, great mpg. If you plan to do a lot of offroading, replace stock tires, install handguards and a skidplate.

Iv had them all, also. DRZ, WRF, KDX, KLX {3, lol}, CRFX, CRFL. Whatever suited my riding style at current moment and location. Was in the desert for 8 years, loved it. Now back home North Coast Great Lakes...the only one I havent had yet is the KLR. Heading to get a '24 in that matte blue tomorrow. Kawi has always been my favorite and them offering $1k off right now was too much to pass. Long solo trips in the desert needed a lighter bike and made me a great enduro rider. But the millions of miles of logging roads here are calling my name. And its been since '16 since I did any ADV trips so time to start over.

Great vid! I sure have a lot of fun on my Xt250 as well. I have the same gripes with my 500x that you mentioned with the KLR. Been toying with the idea of selling the Honda and buying a Dr650 but it is so hard to part with a good bike and the 500x definately has it's place. Keep the videos coming, really enjoy your content.

Glad it’s (dr) working for you! Me, I’ve lost two 650 engines to internal destruction because of overheating. I won’t ride anything that isn’t water cooled …

Im digging the Dualsport I have (CRF300LS). have way more fun and not on edge with it vs my larger adventure bike. Disclaimer. I did pump 3K into a brand new CRF to make it the way it is. but well worth it. (bigger tank, full RallyRaid suspension, bars ect...). may even sell my larger adventure bike as I ride the CRF for everything now..Unless im moto camping for 8+ days its the dual sport for me...

Ive loved my CRF300l, my Tw200, my DR650 but let me tell you my new Husky 501s is crazy compared to the others. The power to weight and the performance is great. I would recommend keeping a Japanese bike but to get a Husky 501 as well!!!

I'm 6'3" and a pretty strong dude, so I'm not super worried about the weight. But I'm excited to get my first bike. Sounds like it's not super snorty, but can also move if you need it to. Getting a 2024 KLR650 Adventure. Gonna have to get me one of those headlight cages though.

I just picked up a 2020 XT250 off of KSL a week ago (I live in western Wyoming), just like you've mentioned doing in past videos! It's my first real motorcycle. About 4,000 miles on it. It was $3500, including a bunch of extras like Double Take mirrors, skid plate, LED headlight, hand guards, rear rack, bigger foot pegs, etc. I've ridden it a few times and am heading out into the desert tomorrow for my first long ride. I watched a bunch of your videos on it before buying. Let me take you out to lunch as a thank-you the next time I pass through St. George!

Good comparison on the bikes. Makes sense wanting the smaller bike. My KLR fits my needs, I can hit the dirt, while still riding with friends when they want to cruise on the highway on their street bikes. Definitely would not single track it, not my skill set. I do see the need to have more than one to ride.

Nice video. I took my DR on a 380 mile trip to have coffee out at my brothers place in the country today. It is 175 miles each way with a 30 mile detour at his end to get gas to come home. Non-stop each way cruising at about 65 or so, close to 6 hours total on the road. All that on the stock seat....

I have a klx 300 2024 model. Ive always liked the klr but the idea of such a heavy bike turns me off. How about a klr 300?😮

I have a GEN 2 KLR 650, I would not purchase a GEN three. I don’t blame you for getting rid of yours. keeping your DR is a no-brainer compared to the GEN three KLR.✌️

I have been a follower of your channel for a long time, and thanks to you, I fell in love with the XT250 and bought one a year and a half ago. I love how versatile and fun the XT250 is, but sometimes I wish it had a little more power so I would feel more comfortable riding it on the freeway and back country roads. Have you ever considered the DRZ400 since it technically has a better suspension than the DR650 out of the box? I like the DR650, but its easier to get a DRZ400 than a DR650 in my area. Regards,

Why 4 bikes???, love your channel, honesty always, thinking trading in my Africa twin for a t7 or klr650.

I would argue the only true euro dual sports are the husky 701/ktm 690. The smaller bikes are enduros, making them no frills, high strung race bikes. Not dual sports that are a compromise of on/off road ability.

It’s tough for me to look beyond the Japanese brands because they’re just too darn reliable.

I could’ve saved lots of money going with a KLR, but instead I went with the DR and added a lot of the comfort and range options. I went with the DR ultimately because of that slight chance that I could find myself on a BDR or section of the trans America trail. Looking back, I don’t know that I would give up the maneuverability of the DR. It’s incredibly nimble at its weight.

The heat has been the big negative in Nevada also. Had to head into the Sierras and rode above 8,000 to escape it.

Royal Enfield's own touring seat makes the seat even better and gives you more scope to move around. Couple of years ago I did 1,700 miles in three days on mine (all asphalt), and a couple of weeks ago did ~40 miles of trail riding on a rented CRF250 then jumped straight back on my Himalayan and rode the 250 miles home (all asphalt but no highway). The 411 is an amazing adventure / do everything bike. It requires some mental adjustment if you're used to big CC machines for sure (my history includes a VFR800, DL1000, TL1000R and sports 600s), but RE got a lot more right than they got wrong. It's not all sunshine and roses; the quality isn't quite up there with more contemporary offerings, I've had a few warranty claims, but I bought it with my eyes open shall we say and I absolutely love it. 80 miles of mixed trail riding last weekend on it, and now I'm commuting on it tomorrow with all the hard luggage that entails. It's a bike that does everything straight out the box. Sometimes I miss the big CC thrills, not gonna lie, but this unassuming little bike does everything I need it to do very well indeed.

I'm 73 and owned more bikes than u can count. I'm on my 5th TW. One of my most favourite multi use bikes. I have done a sprocket change to drop my RPM a little bit. Progressive front Springs, a pipe, Aftermarkets skid plate, change jetting on the carb. But at my age and a replaced knee, I think the bike is beating me up because of no suspension to speak of and the steering feels heavy. I live in western Canada and ride forestry roads and other terrain that has lots of rocks that are not forgiving. I am really wearing myself out trying to keep it on the road. But I do love the soft dirt trails. I am fixing up a Yamaha IT 175 because I will gain about 12 inches of travel and the bike will be lighter so we'll see how that goes.

Excellent video as always, and it’s got me thinking. If you could only keep one of your current bikes, which one would it be, and why? I appreciate your thoughts, as I’m considering what I should get. I’m in a position to get a bike to replace my street only machine, and can afford any one of your bikes, but I’m not in a position to have multiple bikes at this point. Any thoughts you might have would be greatly appreciated!

CRF300l orXT250?

I don't know why they don't bump up the horse power another fifteen horses...it is a great bike but coming in at 500# and only forty horsepower...because of the lower power it's considered a beginners bike...very informative video ❤❤❤

Like your videos I've had alot of dualsports 4 xt 250s 2 crf 250s 2 xl 250s lots of 2 stroke suzukis and several others the 2 650 l Hondas the best adventures I've had were 650 vstroms if you ever ride one you will probably buy it I owned over 200 motorcycles 4and 3wheelers utvs was single my first 40 years and had good jobs so when I wasn't working I was playing

I have one DR-650 and I love it. It’s not a fancy bike with technology but very reliable. It takes me whatever place I want to go. I’ve rode it in Everglades trails with muddy and water holes 2-3 foot deep without no issues.
